ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, NOVEMBER 13 – Dr. Anthony Bridgeman, head of the policy committee for the emerging political organization D’Movement, has issued a stark warning about the escalation of tribal politics in Grenada, placing blame squarely on both the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the opposition New National Party (NNP).

In an exclusive interview on The Narrative this week, Dr. Bridgeman expressed deep concern about the proliferation of fake profiles, personal attacks, and unsubstantiated claims in the political arena.

“What they’re doing is undermining democracy and undermining our people,” he said.
“And that’s one of the reasons people are scared to come out and talk about it.”

His comments come amid a character assassination campaign targeting Canadian-based labor consultant Dr. Justin Pierre, whose recent polling suggests the NDC would lose if elections were called today.

Dr. Pierre also released detailed figures showing Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell’s travel abroad and associated expenses—an issue that has generated significant public discussion.

Dr. Bridgeman criticized both major parties for failing to unite the Grenadian people.

“The previous administration didn’t do much at all in that aspect. And the current administration is not doing much about bringing us together,” he stated, adding that “there needs to be dialogue, there needs to be education of our people.”

Emphasizing leadership accountability, Dr. Bridgeman noted: “Leadership matters a lot, and when you are a leader, you expect people to say things and to come after you.”

He promised D’Movement would deliver “a new type of unity politics” vastly different from the NNP and NDC approaches.

As the political temperature rises ahead of elections—constitutionally due in 2027 but potentially earlier—the issue of personal attacks and tribalism has become a significant concern.

Dr. Bridgeman is expected to be among the speakers when D’Movement officially launches on Sunday at the Trade Centre.
