ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, NOV 3RD – Emerging force D’Movement announced it is preparing to form the government when general elections are called, constitutionally due in 2027.

The movement, led by popular politician and former Foreign Affairs Minister Peter David, will officially launch its political party on Sunday, November 16th at the Trade Center, in what interim chairman Alister Bain promises will be “a launch that makes a difference.”

“The movement is not just getting ready to be an opposition party. We are getting ready to govern,” Bain declared in a recent interview on the Grenada Broadcasting Network (GBN), drawing a stark contrast with traditional parties.

“Unlike other parties who are just trying to show a presence, we are getting ready to govern.”

Bain attributed delays in the party’s launch to meticulous preparation: “We have been ensuring that structures are in place—organizational structures, priorities, economic plans—so that when we assume office, we are ready to govern and would not be trainees in kindergarten trying to find our way.”

The interim chairman’s confidence appears grounded in emerging political realities.

Recent polling by Dr. Justine Pierre projects D’Movement could capture two seats, potentially holding the balance of power between the ruling National Democratic Congress and opposition New National Party in Grenada’s 15-seat parliament.

Iconic political activist Kennedy Budhall has also become the latest voice predicting a hung parliament, with D’Movement securing at least one seat and emerging as a decisive force.

“The national political attention at this particular time is on the movement,” Bain stated, acknowledging the party’s growing momentum. “I believe that we have some traditional politicians who are quivering, and there are all kinds of stories about how a vote for the movement is a vote for another political party. That’s fear.”

When pressed about fielding candidates in all 15 constituencies, Bain assured: “That is a given,” adding that democratic candidate selection processes would be implemented following the official launch.

“The movement, from all indications, is a force to be reckoned with, even before it is fully birthed,” Bain concluded.
