St. George’s, Grenada – January 9, 2025 – A high-level Grenadian delegation, led by Prime Minister Honourable Dickon Mitchell, has embarked on an official visit to the People’s Republic of China to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the resumption of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

The delegation includes Honourable Joseph Andall, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade, and Export Development; Honourable Lennox Andrews, Minister for Economic Development, Planning, and Agriculture; Senator Salim Rahaman; and Ambassador Richard Nixon.

During the visit, which runs from January 9–17, the delegation will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping, participate in a Trade and Export Development Forum, and engage in bilateral discussions on enhancing cooperation in infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, education, and cultural exchange.

“This visit represents an important milestone in our diplomatic journey with China,” Prime Minister Mitchell stated. “China has consistently demonstrated respect and goodwill towards Grenada, fostering a partnership that benefits both nations.”

In Prime Minister Mitchell’s absence, Honourable Andy Williams, Minister for Mobilization, Implementation, and Transformation, will serve as Acting Prime Minister.
