ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, OCTOBER 27TH, Grenada’s three main political leaders will share the stage Wednesday night for a national debate, giving voters a chance to hear their competing plans ahead of the November 5 general election.

Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter David of the Democratic People’s Movement (DPM), and Emmalin Pierre of the opposition New National Party (NNP) have confirmed their participation in Grenada’s Choice 2026: The National Leaders’ Debate.
The debate takes place on Wednesday, October 28, at the Grenada Trade Center. The live broadcast begins at 6:50 p.m., with the debate scheduled to start at 7 p.m. It will be available on television and online; the live audience will be by invitation.
At a draw held at GBN’s studios on Tuesday, party representatives selected the order in which the leaders will respond to questions in the first round. Mitchell will answer first, followed by David and Pierre.
DPM representative Derek James said the debate could help voters assess the parties’ positions, particularly those who do not attend rallies.
“I do believe there are a lot of people still to make up their minds, and I hope the debate will help,” he said.
The NDC representative, Gail Purcell, described the event as “an opportunity for the people to engage, hear what the parties have to offer and what the leadership is offering.”
The NNP representative, Dylan Charles, said the party was looking forward to the debate and urged people to “tune in and listen to what all leaders have to say.”
The debate will cover the economy, cost of living, healthcare, education, employment, governance and accountability. Kenroy Baptiste will moderate, with questions from Dr. Kellon Bubb and Johnson John Rose.
The Media Workers Association of Grenada, GBN, The Bubb Report, and the Grenada Conference of Churches are organizing the event.
