UNION, ST. MARK, Grenada, July 25. Police have reportedly detained the daughter of a 66-year-old Union, St. Mark resident as investigations continue into the death of her father, Garrison “Gary” Williams, whose body was discovered at his home on Friday.

The Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) has not identified any suspect or announced any arrest in connection with the case. In its official statement, police confirmed only that Williams was found motionless at his residence with a wound to his face and that a postmortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

However, multiple sources familiar with the investigation say officers questioned several relatives, including Williams’ wife, son, and daughter, following the discovery of his body.

According to those sources, the wife and son were subsequently released, while the daughter has remained in police custody for further questioning. Authorities have not publicly confirmed these reports, and no criminal charges have been announced.

Williams, a retired public officer and former Price Control Officer, was reportedly found by a family member after concerns were raised about his welfare.

The death has sent shockwaves through the quiet community of Union, one of the smallest villages in St. Mark.

The incident occurred just a short distance from the residence of the newly selected NDC candidate for St. Mark.

The RGPF has extended condolences to Williams’ family and friends and says the investigation remains active.
