ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada, June 22nd – Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell has announced that Grenadians will play a direct role in shaping the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) next election manifesto, as the governing party prepares for what he said will be another term in office.

Addressing supporters during the NDC’s fourth anniversary celebration on Sunday night, Mitchell revealed plans for a nationwide consultation process beginning in July and August that will take government representatives into every constituency, parish and polling division across Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
“The second announcement is that we want you, the people, to write the manifesto for the National Democratic Congress in the next election,” Mitchell told supporters.
“We will ask you to tell us what you want done in your village, in your polling division, in your constituency. You write that down, we will put it together, and then we will come back and present it to you as a manifesto of the people, authored by you, for you and for the development of Grenada.”
The announcement comes as the Prime Minister expressed confidence that the NDC will secure a second consecutive term in office at the next general election.
“There will be no change in government for the next five years,” Mitchell declared to loud applause. “When you write the manifesto, you are doing so understanding that the National Democratic Congress will be in office from 2027.”
Throughout his address, Mitchell pointed to what he described as key accomplishments of his administration, including pension payments, increases in the minimum wage, tuition assistance for students, expanded school meal programs, housing support initiatives, and greater investment in Grenada’s creative sector.
The Prime Minister also launched what appeared to be an early election mobilization drive, urging supporters to ensure they are registered to vote and have valid identification cards.
“Register your children. Register your brothers and sisters. Check your ID card,” he said. “Make sure your neighbors and your friends know that we are ready to go.”
Mitchell also announced a diaspora homecoming initiative, calling on overseas Grenadians to contribute beyond financial remittances.
“We need your brain, we need your expertise, we need your networking, we need your experience and your hard work,” he said.

The Prime Minister ended his address with a rallying cry to supporters, urging them to remain engaged as the party prepares for the next electoral contest.
“The conch shell is coming,” he said. “Get ready, stay aggressive, stay positive, register to vote and make sure your families come out, because elections have consequences.”
