ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, DECEMBER 13- Popular talk show host Jenny Simon has issued a stern ultimatum to the management and board of directors of the Gravel & Concrete Corporation, giving them until the end of December to release a promised statement addressing mounting allegations of financial impropriety and corruption at the state-owned entity.

Speaking on the latest edition of her program “Simon Says,” Simon revealed she has uncovered what she describes as widespread corruption within the organization, involving multiple employees in separate schemes spanning from embezzlement to sexual molestation allegations.

“I am waiting on the statement from the board of directors first before I move further,” Simon told listeners.
“I have names, I have suspects, what was done, where, who did it. I have it.”

The immediate catalyst for Simon’s investigation was a November 28, 2025, newspaper article detailing the unauthorized use of $20,000 from Gravel & Concrete funds by a female employee. However, Simon insists the problems run far deeper.

“Besides the young lady in question written about in that article, there are about five others involved in their own separate corruption scheme, from captain to cook,” she revealed.

“I know of illegal checks being cashed in gravel and Concrete. I know of names added to the payroll.”
Simon also disclosed allegations of solar light and cement corruption schemes, as well as sexual molestation complaints from several female staff members.

Simon claims the corporation’s nine-member board has been reduced to four or five members, which is legally questionable, yet it continues to make operational decisions.

Chairman Sylvester Quarless, currently serving as Consul General in Ottawa, Canada, promised Simon a statement on December 2 following an emergency board meeting, but no statement has been released.

“You cannot tell the people of Grenada that there’s no corruption going on inside gravel and concrete,” Simon declared. “I know that you can’t do that.”

Manager Arthur Ollivierre, when contacted, denied all allegations.
Gravel & Concrete has struggled with mismanagement for approximately 30 years under successive administrations.

Still, Simon suggests political connections to the Dickon Mitchell-led National Democratic Congress government may be shielding wrongdoers from accountability.

These latest allegations add to mounting scandals surrounding the Mitchell administration, including a lottery controversy in which Minister Jonathan La Crette was fired for attempting to expose irregularities, and a road-construction bribery scandal involving senior minister Andy Williams, who has refused to take legal action against his accusers.

“These are the young people that the prime minister speaks about, that they’re grooming,” Simon questioned. “What are you grooming them to do? To steal and say that it’s okay?”

Prime Minister Mitchell serves as the line minister for Gravel & Concrete.

With her January deadline approaching, Simon has warned that she will release her complete findings regardless of whether the board issues its statement.

The corporation’s management has yet to respond publicly to Simon’s ultimatum.
