ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada, January 7, 2025 —Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell says Grenada’s Digital Workforce Initiative graduates could earn starting salaries of $3,000 USD—higher than many government ministers.

This landmark program officially launched in December and begins its pilot training on January 19.

” We are talking here about starting salaries in those areas are 3,000 US per month that’s more than a minister of government makes. I want to repeat that some of these salaries are around 3,000 a month it is more than a current government Minister makes,” Mitchell stated during an interview on Beyond the Headlines on the Grenada Broadcasting Network.

The initiative, run in partnership with a Canadian firm, aims to equip participants with certifications such as CompTIA Security+, providing skills to thrive in the global digital economy.

Initial training will occur in St. Patrick’s at McDonald College and St. George’s, reflecting a commitment to bridging opportunities between rural and urban communities.

For the pilot, 100 trainees have been recruited for a six-month training period, with ambitions to scale to 500 participants.
